EMERGENCY READY >>>

Start Here

If you’re new here, welcome to Survival Tips Central.

This site is for normal people who want their families ready for blackouts, storms, and civil unrest without becoming extreme or overwhelmed. My goal is to give you calm, practical survival skills you can actually use in everyday life.

If you’ve ever thought, “I should probably get prepared, but I don’t know where to start,” this page is for you.

Step 1: Make a simple 7-day plan

Before you buy any fancy gear, you need a basic plan.

Start by getting a simple emergency plan in place for the next 7 days. That means knowing:

  • Where you would go if you had to leave home
  • How you would contact each other if phones went down
  • What you would eat and drink for a week if stores were closed

Click the button on the homepage that says “Start Your 7-Day Prep Plan” and work through it first. This gives you a calm, clear foundation.

Step 2: Learn the core basics

Next, learn a few basic skills that matter in almost every emergency.

Begin with these beginner guides:

  • Water Storage 101 – how much water you really need and how to store it safely
  • Food and Cooking in an Emergency – simple ideas for meals if the power is out
  • Basic Survival Skills – the mindset and skills that keep you calm when things go wrong

Step 3: Get three must-have items

Once you have a plan and some basic knowledge, it’s time to get a few key items in place.

I recommend starting with just three basics:

  1. An emergency hand-crank weather radio
  2. A portable water filter or purification system
  3. A simple 72-hour emergency kit for your home

I’ve written short reviews to help you choose beginner-friendly options. You can find them on the Reviews page in the main menu. Start with those three; you can always add more later.

Step 4: Build one skill at a time

Preparedness is not about doing everything in one weekend. It’s about slowly building skills and habits.

Each week, pick one topic from the Training page or the Blog and focus on it:

  • One week you might practice safe water storage
  • Another week you might work on fire, light, or staying warm
  • Another week you might prepare a simple grab-and-go document folder

Over time, these small steps add up and your family becomes quietly, confidently prepared.
